Mowing Guidelines
In addition to the lawn treatment, proper mowing is essential for maintaining healthy turf. Poor mowing affects the health of the grass plants, which in turn affects its appearance. We recommend a mowing height of 3 inches during the normal growing season.
In early spring, when your grass is coming out of dormancy, it can be mowed quite short, at 1.5 to 2 inches. Once the dead, straw colored grass has grown out, cut at three inches until the fall season.
The lawn should be mowed frequently enough so that no more that 1/3 of the total growth is removed at one time. We realize that this is difficult to keep up with during springtime, but this will give you the absolute best results.
Watering Guidelines
Supplemental watering of your lawn will be needed during periods when rainfall amounts become insufficient. Watering should begin when the lawn is showing early signs of moisture stress. We recommend that you water during the early morning hours only, between 4 am and 10 am for approximately 45 minutes per area, or until the soil is uniformly wet to a depth of 5 inches. This can be done every other day between rainfalls.
